ATMOsphere Europe Summit
The ATMOsphere Europe Summit 2024, held on 25–26 November in Prague, brought together HVAC&R industry leaders, policymakers, and end-users to explore advancements in natural refrigerants and their applications.
Highlights from the conference
A key highlight of the conference was the “F-gas and Standards Panel”, which provided an in-depth overview of evolving European Union policies and technical standards. With 2025 marking a critical milestone for aligning with global climate and efficiency goals, these updates are crucial for shaping future industry initiatives.
The conference also showcased practical applications of natural refrigerants, including energy efficiency assessments for industrial cooling systems and transport refrigeration equipment. These case studies serve as valuable benchmarks, offering insights into optimizing system performance while adhering to sustainability principles. Additionally, cutting-edge technology demonstrations and real-world case studies from leading international companies illustrated best practices and innovative solutions, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with natural refrigerants.
Beyond technical discussions, the summit fostered collaboration among industry experts, policymakers, and researchers, creating a platform for exchanging ideas, forming partnerships, and collectively driving the adoption of climate-friendly cooling and heating technologies.
The insights shared at ATMOsphere Europe align closely with Cool Up’s mission to advance climate-friendly refrigerants and improve energy efficiency in cooling systems. Discussions on CO₂ (R744), propane (R290), and ammonia (R717) reinforced the Cool Up`s focus on integrating sustainable refrigerants into commercial and industrial applications. Updates on EU F-gas regulations and the push to phase out PFAS-containing systems provide important guidance for Cool Up’s work in regulatory harmonization and compliance across its target regions.
As innovation in sustainable cooling technologies continues to accelerate, Cool Up remains committed to supporting this transition by promoting policy alignment, technical capacity building, and market transformation initiatives across its partner regions.
