Held on 9 and 10 July 2024 in Beirut, Lebanon, the training brought together 40 participants and equipped them with the knowledge and skills to design and implement energy-efficient cooling systems. The program concluded with a short evaluation exam to assess the acquired knowledge, and participants who completed the training received certificates of attendance.

Participants included representatives from Trane Technologies, EcoConsulting, Free Energy, UNICEF, Energy Efficiency Group, UTECH, SEALCO – LG, Yeka Partners Company, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Pierre Dammous and Partners, World Wide Trader, and OTB Consulting and Industrial Research Institute.

The training covered a comprehensive range of topics related to energy-efficient cooling systems, including:

  • Energy basics and efficiency
  • Cooling systems and cycles
  • Heat transfer and thermal energy management
  • Energy audits
  • Measurement and verification
  • National policies in Lebanon

By leveraging the PA-CEMP curriculum, the training program ensured participants received a high-quality and standardised foundation in these core areas. The workshop aimed at empowering participants to increase the knowledge in decision making of selection, design, and operation of cooling systems, ultimately contributing to reduced energy consumption and environmental impact within the Lebanese cooling sector.
