Egypt becomes a frontrunner in the ratification of the Kigali Amendment in the MENA region.
Egypt ratifies the Kigali Amendment
The Parliament of Egypt, headed by Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, which aims to keep pace with the global trend in the field of technology modernization within the framework of preserving the environment and achieving sustainable development.
By aligning with the Kigali Amendment, Egypt deepens its commitment to mitigating climate change. Phasing down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in cooling and refrigeration systems will have a significant impact towards Egypt’s climate commitments and helps to pave the way for a greener and more sustainable future.
