As Türkiye continues its phased reduction of synthetic refrigerants starting in 2024 under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, transitioning to natural refrigerants remains crucial for both economic and climate action goals. Natural refrigerants have the potential to reduce global warming by 0.4°C by 2100, making them a vital component in combating climate change.

The training highlighted the safe handling and application of natural refrigerants. Topics covered included the characteristics, applications, safety measures, and service procedures, providing technical personnel with valuable insights into managing these refrigerants safely. Special emphasis was placed on risk mitigation, addressing potential hazards such as ignition sources and refrigerant leakage.

Training local technicians in handling natural refrigerants is vital for sustainable cooling systems. It reduces emissions, leaks, and improper disposal, minimizing environmental impact. Trained technicians optimize system performance, leading to energy-efficient operations and lower energy consumption. This training ensures regulatory compliance, avoiding legal issues. It also builds local capacity, creating job opportunities and expertise, reducing dependency on foreign experts.

Congratulations to all of our participants for working so hard on their theoretical and practical skills!
