Finance training in Egypt
Cool Up’s country partner in Egypt, the Integrated Development Group (IDG), organized in cooperation with the Ministries of Environment and Technical Education of Egypt, a financial training on sustainable cooling on 28 February 2024 in Nasr City, Cairo. Cool Up’s training enhanced the participants’ knowledge on sustainable cooling practices by highlighting the link between finance and environment strategies, contributing to the broader goals of Cool Up in fostering sustainable cooling in Egypt.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Salheen introduced the Cool Up programme. Following this, Dr. Amr El Banhawy discussed the latest and upcoming technologies in the Egyptian market, emphasizing the importance of sustainable cooling in the region. Dr. Sara Adam, talked about the economic advantages of using sustainable cooling technologies.
The attendees actively participated in the discussion and raised concerns about the challenges of securing funding for sustainable cooling. It was suggested that financial institutions should become more familiar with these technologies. Technical assessments would be necessary to ensure the safety and viability of investment. A recommendation was made for Cool Up to offer technical support in this regard.
