Natural refrigerant training in Türkiye
The Cool Up programme conducted a training session on 27 June in İzmir for technical personnel in the cooling sector. The training, organized by Cool Up’s country partner, UNDP Türkiye, provided theoretical and practical knowledge on the safe use of natural refrigerants. This initiative is part of Cool Up’s capacity building workstream to accelerate the transition from synthetic to natural refrigerants in cooling devices.
The training addressed the importance of transitioning to natural refrigerants in light of the Montreal Protocol’s reduction targets starting in 2024. Participants gained insights into both the technical and safety aspects of using natural refrigerants, which are a crucial part for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting sustainable cooling practices in Türkiye.
Participants included representatives from Termokar, Onur Enerji, Italian, 4K Form Group, Ahmet Yar Soğutma, and ICE Soğutma.
