Policy training in Türkiye: Türkiye's Directorate of Climate Change joins 3-day training on 'Sustainability Management'
Cool Up’s country partner in Türkiye, UNDP Türkiye, organized a policy training session on ‘Sustainability Management’ with participation of the Turkish Directorate of Climate Change from 14-17 May 2024 in Ankara, Türkiye. This training was held in light of the Directorate of Climate Change’s future plans for sustainability practices. A total of 22 participants from Türkiye’s Directorate of Climate Change took part in the training.
The 3-day training included practices related to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, the EU Taxonomy, the Paris Agreement, and climate-related policies and their relations to sustainability. During the Cool Up training participants discussed global practices on sustainability reporting, processes of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting, practices in the European Union, and sample reports.
Sustainability reporting will soon become mandatory as per the Turkish government’s requirements, making the evaluation stages of these reports crucial.
